Auto associations warn against wireless Internet proposal Two associations representing automobile manufacturers want the Federal Communications Commission to slow down plans to open up a part of the wireless spectrum to Internet access, saying they first want the agency to run tests ensuring the signals won't interfere with auto safety devices. The Alliance for Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of Global Automakers have jointly submitted comments urging the agency not to allow unlicensed devices to use the part of the spectrum currently reserved for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications, according to The Detroit News.
